About us
Jupiter’s Child is a small company of three multi-talented, earth-loving women. We have pooled our knowledge, resources, and skills to open a business that will, we hope, benefit you, us, and the planet we live on. So come on in; take a look around. If we can be of assistance, just send us an email!

Barbara - Barbara was born and raised in Hawaii which colors the way she sees the world. Whenever she gets homesick for the islands (which is often) she plays the ukulele, strings flower leis, eats shave ice, or does a little daydreaming.
She brings her business acumen as well as her creativity to Jupiter’s Child. She dabbles in calligraphy, painting, mosaics, dousing and the healing arts.
Music is an important part of her life. Besides playing the ukulele, she plays the clarinet and piano. She finds that playing music with others is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
She recently went on a wonderful journey to Romania. This experience opened her mind and helped her to view the world in a whole new way. She met new friends, enjoyed great food, and saw beautiful parts of the country. She hopes to return to Romania again some day.
Barbara is married and currently lives in Austin, Texas. She has two very active and creative boys and two loving and mischievous orange tabby cats.
Beth – Beth grew up in eastern Georgia, just a little too far from the Appalachian Mountains to be able to claim them as a cultural influence. Jonesing for some serious altitude, she took off for Colorado in pursuit of a Rocky Mountain Higher Education. While true enlightenment continued to elude her, she did manage to acquire a non-utilitarian degree and a serious case of wanderlust. In a tale far too tragic to be repeated here, but involving several continents, squashed romances, Irish jigs, and the introduction of the flea to the state of Idaho, she managed to land her hippie-dippy self in Austin, where she has remained to this day. Mountainless, she might add, despite the fact that central Texas is amusingly known as the “hill” country. Ever-distrustful of “the man,” she subjects her children to alternative forms of education, collects her own rainwater, and makes twee little items out of felt. Happily, her long-suffering but supportive husband has tenure.
Gaynor – I have been living in Austin, Texas with my husband and three children since 1989. Before Austin I lived in Sydney Australia, before that Oxfordshire England and before that I was born in London way back in the Fifties. I played down the street from Abbey Road, lived in a cottage in the Cotswolds and was dumped, many times, by waves on Manly beach. Then, one day, there I was, in a rental in southwest Austin dazed and confused and on my way to being a part of the Austin Waldorf School and starting and managing the Juniper Tree store. Seventeen years later, I was still dazed and confused. Yoga has been a blessing, as of course, have been my children who have taken me down paths I never imagined I would have taken. My eldest son has just graduated from college, his brother joined the USAF and is based in England and my daughter is looking forward to finishing high school.
